Controller (Chicago)

Prominent global graphic supplies company is seeking a Chicago based Controller to handle high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial activities of the company. As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from payroll to tax compliance. Additionally, will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.

Responsibilities
•Oversee monthly accounting close process and timely and accurate reporting of financials.  Ensure statements are in accordance with GAAP. 
•Support the development of annual Business Plan and monthly Profit & Loss forecasts, including monthly margin forecasts.
•Perform pricing analysis and audit to ensure compliance to the company's Pricing Policy.
•Support functional leaders to achieve Productivity/Cost Improvement commitment.
•Evaluate financial processes and systems to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, internal controls, and reporting capabilities. 
•Maintain internal accounting control. Support internal and external audits.
•Participate or lead special projects as required.
•Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
•Prepare and maintain Customer, Regional and Branch based Profitability and drive overall Gross Margin Development.
•Maritain costing system.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
•Minimum of 5 years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience.
•Experience developing standards, auditing, accounting, and corporate finance
•Experience developing budgets and tracking budget expenses
•Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
•Experience with financial reporting requirements
•Experience working within a Manufacturing environment.
•Demonstrate the ability to thoroughly understand a business's strategy and determine linkages to financial initiatives and drivers.
•Ability to effectively manage people, projects, and tasks ensuring appropriate responsiveness and priority.
•Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization and influence processes across multiple functions and stakeholders.
•Strong software skills, including use of an ERP systems (SAP) and advanced capabilities with Excel.
•CPA or Equivalent.
