Well established printing company located Northeast of DC is adding a Color Technical Specialist. This is a fast-paced production team driven by the principles of operational excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Profile wide format printers (inkjet & dye sub) to maintain color consistency
  • Provide technical expertise on incoming projects
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the color management program throughout the printing process
  • Provide guidance and training to pre-press and digital print operators
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and monitor digital printer output
  • Maintain printing equipment, liaise with outside vendors, and perform software updates
  • Follow and comply with all safety and compliance procedures

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with Vutek, Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland DBA, Fujifilm, Agfa, Canon, Epson, SwissQ, EFI, HP, or Stratojet, wide format RIPS such as Onyx, GMG or Caldera, color management software, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Expert knowledge of prepress, color management, color correction, and digital printing. Specifically wide format inkjet and dye sublimation printers
  • Strong color visual acuity as tested by the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test and color matching skills
  • Ability to commute daily to Northeast District of Columbia
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • A strong commitment to quality and safety
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Strong math and measurement skills using spectrophotometers and other color management devices

Wage: $30+/hr
