Well established printing company located Northeast of DC is looking for an experienced working Prepress Supervisor. The ideal candidate should be an established pre-press leader experienced in working on files for offset and digital printing with a solid track record of managing team of prepress operators and coordinating with senior level and C-level management to initiate and implement long term strategies geared toward operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Manage, schedule, lead, supervise, direct, train and evaluate all aspects of prepress and digital printing departments
- Work on prepress files daily for offset and digital printing
- Profile digital printers to maintain color consistency and increase automation
- Provide technical expertise on incoming projects
- Meet or exceed KPI objectives, and control costs within a metrics driven environment
- Develop, implement, and monitor the color management program throughout the printing process
- Provide guidance and training to pre-press and digital print operators
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and monitor digital press output
- Maintain prepress and digital printing equipment, liaise with outside vendors, and perform software updates
- Follow and comply with all safety and compliance procedures
- Recommend new processes, software, technologies, equipment, and monitor industry trends
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of hands-on prepress experience for offset and digital printing
- 2+ years supervisory/management experience
- Expert knowledge of prepress, color management, color correction, digital printing, and online storefronts
- Experience with prepress software such as Prinergy, Adobe Creative, PDF workflows, prepress workflow automation software such as Apogee or Enfocus Pitstop, and associated scripts, action lists and actions
- Knowledge of offset sheetfed presses and digital presses such as: Indigo, toner and web fed/high speed inkjet
- Strong color visual acuity and color matching skills
- Ability to commute daily to Northeast District of Columbia or willingness to relocate to the area
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- A strong commitment to quality and safety
- Flexibility of work hours
- Strong math and measurement skills using spectrophotometers and other color management devices
Wage: $75,000 to $85,000
