Well established printing company is seeking an experienced VP of Operations to lead manufacturing operations at their Northeast location. There is a knowledgeable production crew in place and key initiatives include growth, maintaining on time deliveries, process improvement, and waste reduction. This individual will oversee all manufacturing aspects of the facility that includes prepress, printing, finishing, and converting. The ideal candidate should be an established leader experienced in printing and packaging with a solid track record of planning and executing strategies geared toward operational excellence. Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the local plants and provide leadership and direction to all production departments 
  • Plan and direct production and manufacturing priorities according to customers’ needs and company best practices
  • Hire, lead, coach and train managers and supervisors within a fast-paced environment
  • Forecast, plan, organize, and monitor production to achieve maximum productivity, quality, and safety
  • Meet or exceed KPI objectives and cost containment goals
  • Develop and implement annual operating and capital budgets
  • Work hand in hand with executive management and peers across the organization
  • Oversee research and recommend new equipment intended to grow sales and confirm efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree – Master's preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years plant-wide leadership and manufacturing management experience within a printing or packaging facility
  • A proven track record of supervising a 100+ person team, while reducing costs, and maintaining a high level of safety and quality
  • Experience with a food safe manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record in production management, growing a plant, emphasizing strategic planning, production planning, and manufacturing
  • Ability to coach, mentor, train and inspire commitment 
  • Previous P/L responsibility of $50mm+
  • Strong leadership, communication, and delegation skills
  • Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma experience
