Rapidly growing global printing company is seeking an experienced Director of Production Operations to lead their Seattle location. There is a knowledgeable production crew in place and key initiatives include maintaining on time deliveries and first time quality, process workflow/improvement, cost controls, and waste reduction. This individual will oversee all operational aspects of the facility as well as the wide format division that includes prepress, dye sublimation and inkjet printing, cutting, finishing, warehouse, inventory and fulfillment/distribution. The ideal candidate should be an established leader experienced in lean manufacturing and six sigma with a solid track record of working with department managers and C-level management to initiate and implement long term strategies geared toward operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of large format printing and provide leadership and direction to all production departments as well as managing maintenance of a 140,000 square foot facility
- Plan and direct production and manufacturing priorities according to customers’ needs and company best practices
- Establish, implement, and meet or exceed KPI objectives
- Hire, lead, coach and train team members, managers, and supervisors within a fast-paced environment
- Forecast, plan, organize, and monitor production to achieve maximum productivity, quality and safety
- Work with corporate supply chain and sourcing team for all supplies and inventory tracking as well as cost reduction initiatives
- Oversee research and recommend new equipment intended to grow sales and confirm efficiency
- Participate in guiding the company through rapid growth along with the senior management team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of plant-wide manufacturing leadership experience managing a digital printing facility
- A proven track record of supervising a 30+ person team, while reducing costs, and maintaining a high level of safety and quality
- Proven track record in business and management; emphasizing strategic planning, and lean manufacturing
- Experience with large format roll to roll and flatbed inkjet printing, dye sublimation, cutting and finishing
- Ability to coach, mentor and motivate a team within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and delegation skills
- Experienced in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong color visual acuity, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate and experience with Microsoft Office
- Currently live or be able to relocate to the south of Seattle area (this is an on-site position)
