Well established printing company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead their Kansas facility. There is a knowledgeable production crew in place and key initiatives include maintaining financial health of the plant and on time deliveries, process improvement, and waste reduction. This individual will oversee all aspects of production that includes prepress, inkjet wide format digital printing, dye sublimation, direct fabric printing, finishing, sewing, shipping, warehouse, fulfillment/distribution, and maintenance. The ideal candidate should be an established leader experienced in printing with a solid track record of working with everyone from machine operators to C-level management to initiate and implement long term strategies geared toward operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Supervise all aspects of the printing from pre-press through shipping and provide leadership and direction to all production employees
- Plan, schedule, and direct production and manufacturing priorities according to customers’ needs and company best practices
- Hire, lead, coach, develop, and train team members within a fast-paced environment
- Forecast, schedule, plan, organize, provide strategic direction, and monitor all printing production to achieve maximum productivity, quality, and safety
- Meet or exceed KPI objectives, and control costs within a metrics driven environment
- Work hand in hand with executive management and sales
- Troubleshooting fabric and textile printing
- Establish and administer the budget and hold responsibility for P&L
- Recommend new processes, software, technologies, equipment, and monitor industry trends
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
- Stay up to date on current industry innovations and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- A minimum of 8 years of financial and manufacturing management of a production team
- A proven track record of supervising a team within a fast-paced printing environment, while reducing costs, and maintaining a high level of safety and quality
- Extensive hands-on operations management experience, emphasizing strategic planning, production planning, and manufacturing of large campaigns
- Knowledge of printing a must with experience in inkjet large format (roll to roll and flatbed), small format digital printing, dye sublimation, direct to garment/DTG digital printing as well as finishing, cutting, and sewing techniques to produce textiles, fabrics, garments, flags, point of sale/POS, point of purchase/POP, banners and fashion a big plus
- Strong color visual acuity (G7 experience a plus)
- Ability to hire, coach, mentor, and train within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate and experience with Microsoft Office and print management software
- Be able to work onsite and commute daily to the Southwest of Kansas City area
- Ability to travel to industry events, conferences, and trade shows
