Global ink and chemical manufacturer is looking for a Technical Service Representative to join the Offset Division. Ideal candidates will possess extensive litho press room experience, allowing them to troubleshoot effectively across various phases of the printing process. They value adaptability and readiness to learn new aspects of the industry, specifically ink and color matching applications. This remote position, located preferably in the Chicago IL or Greensboro NC areas, requires extensive travel and offers competitive compensation, medical benefits, company car/car allowance, laptop and phone. Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure the performance of conventional and UV inks across North America.
  • Conduct product trials and create detailed reports on outcomes.
  • Regularly schedule and manage technical visits to key customers, ensuring issue resolution.
  • Address customer complaints swiftly and effectively, implementing root cause analysis.
  • Participate in on-site troubleshooting and training for customer personnel.
  • Perform pressroom audits and assist with color management activities when needed.
  • Collaborate with sales teams, providing expert product recommendations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new products and services.
  • Suggest and undertake training to enhance personal and team effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a press room environment, preferably within the folding carton sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with X-Rite and other pressroom/color software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • G7 Expert certification is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Customer-oriented with a proactive approach to addressing needs and improving service.
  • Ability to travel extensively, mostly within North America, with a flexible schedule.
  • UV ink experience is mandatory.
  • Comfortable with a dynamic environment that includes regular physical activities like standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
